Engagement Manager - Project Island Song

  • Fixed term contract: one year, average 40 hours a week, 48 weeks of the year – contract renewal subject to performance and funding
  • Bay of Islands based – Russell office with opportunities to work from home

An exciting contract opportunity has arisen to lead the engagement work for Project Island Song, nurturing the involvement of people living within and visiting the Bay of Islands area.

The Engagement Manager will lead Project Island Song's learning, volunteering, and visitor engagement programmes. Being able to demonstrate a high level of innovation and enthusiasm to motivate, support, and inspire others to get involved in our work is essential. The post holder will need to communicate well with a range of people, and will be able to demonstrate their ability and passion for people and wildlife.

Although this is a new role, as components of the position are already in operation a focus will be on delivering existing programmes. Volunteers and schools are a big part of our target audience. However, this role will also enable additional engagement programme development, and we have the opportunity to empower broader community and visitor engagement opportunities. We therefore ideally want someone who is great at both programme development and delivery.
