2020 AGM invite
Join us for the Guardians of the Bay of Islands Inc. 2020 AGM with guest speaker Blair Tuke
Please join us for our 2020 AGM 2pm, Sunday 1st November at The Duke of Marlborough Hotel, Russell.
We are delighted to present Blair Tuke, America’s Cup sailor and Live Ocean founder as our speaker following the AGM.
Born and raised by a keen boating family in Kerikeri, Blair grew up on the waters of the Bay of Islands. He even went to school by speed boat at times. He learned to sail at the Kerikeri High School sailing academy, and has gone on to become an Olympic, America’s Cup and Round-the-World sailor.
Blair sailed with Mapfre in the 2017–18 Volvo Ocean Race, finishing 2nd overall. The experience of completing a round-the-world sailing race accelerated Blair’s desire to make positive change for our ocean.
A keen spear fisherman and surfer, even on his days off from sailing, Blair can generally be found in or on the water. For Blair it has always been the ocean first. He feels it has given him so much and preserving it for future generations was the main driver in launching Live Ocean, the charity he co-founded with fellow sailor Peter Burling.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Guardians of the Bay of Islands. Every contribution helps advance our work - we couldn't do it without you.
We hope you can join us.
