Hilux a huge help - thanks Northland Toyota

Project Island Song's Hilux  has been kept busy with a wide range of tasks including translocation work, pest control, school visits and planting. Northland Toyota has provided the smarlty  signwritten Hilux for six months and its already proving invaluable to our work.

Richard has been using it for our tieke translocation from Mauimua Island to Ipipiri - on consultation visits, picking up equipment and transporting the catching team and for weekly planning meetings with DOC in Kerikeri.

2015-02-12 14.07.11The wellside ute has also proven very useful for mainland pest control, with Carl and Fleur putting fifty new rat trap boxes along the 13km of Project Strip.

The 2015 Kids Restore NZ programme of Floating Classrooms is about to start so Theresa has been travelling around all the participating schools.

Preparation for this year's planting is underway, so again the wellside is very useful for transporting plants and providing some protection for them en route.

Many of the roads travelled are metal, so Richard is getting better at keeping the vehicle clean. He insists that as soon as he washes it, it's dusty again. But it's getting great use which is the important thing and really helping us with our work. And we get  comments everywhere we go.

Thanks Northland Toyota!
